This short article is going to cover the requirements and tips on the preparation of an e-poster. The conventional scientific posters were presented as an arrangement of graphic designs and information printed on papers. Today, as a result of the growth of digital technology, scientific conferences ask for items such as Quick Response code (QR) and interactive electronic posters (e-posters). These new digital posters help a lot in the distribution of knowledge to a wide range of audience.
The e-posters and classic paper posters are alike, except that the e-posters are exhibited on a large LCD screen. A mobile with a QR code reader app is able to scan QR code and leads to a website in which a copy of the poster is downloadable.
Content arrangement of scientific posters
Generally, the content of scientific posters is arranged this way:
Title: The poster title should be short, informative and representative of the findings.
Background: A short description of the subject of the poster and previous literature.
Objectives: Bulleted list of some research questions.
Data and Methods: Study design, data source, length of the study, sample size, patient population, methodology, statistical analysis.
Conclusion: Findings provided in the form of figures or tables, key findings highlighted, study strength and limitations.
