The important differences between journal articles and the conference papers include: Generally, the journal articles have a higher scientific credibility than the conference papers because they are subjected to a more precise judgment process.
Accordingly, the results of the journal articles are of higher validity, compared to those of the conference papers. However, it should be noted that the articles published in high-rank conferences, like the Neural Information Processing System (NIPS), are considered to have a high credibility. At the NIPP conference, author name is not mentioned in the article; therefore, even the reviewers cannot see the names of the authors, which is known as “blind review”.
