Crossmark is a multi-publisher initiative by CrossRef and provides a standard way for readers to find an authoritative copy of a document. We all know the importance of the completeness of a scientific background for researchers and librarians. The Crossmark index keeps readers informed of the current status of a document and provides additional information about its publication record with the click of a button.
How does it work?
The Crossmark logo is added to the registered version of all published documents. By clicking on the cross icon the reader can be informed of the current status of a document and access additional information related to its publication record (such as investment information and the author’s ORCID Ids if available). This will help your work as an author and give a higher level of authenticity.
What does it look like?
The CrossMark logo is shown on the title page of every published document:
Can articles be edited after publication?
While we always try to produce perfect articles, sometimes corrections are needed. More details about this process are included on the correction page of their website along with the correction policies. If corrections are made to a published article, it will be noted in the CrossMark information.
